LUC. loves marble

There's something about marble that gets me every time. I love the feel of it, love the sense of luxury it represents and I love the utilitarian, functional nature of the product. So when I saw the product from Marble Basics  there was no hesitation that their beautiful pieces were going to be stocked at LUC. Marble Basics is owned by a design duo (sisters!) from Melbourne and they have produced some great, functional, handsome basic marble homewares for kitchen, bathroom and the home in general. Little flower pots, multi use trays and trivets - it's a great range. The full range will be here for Christmas but some pieces will be coming through before the end of October.

The marble theme doesn't stop there. Not only will I be stocking these great Marble Basics but I have also sourced another Australian company that makes amazing little candles in Tuscan marble. Oh yes please!! These hand-poured eco soy wax candles will be available later this year.  Candlelit & Co haven't launched a website as yet but I have placed an order for their marble candles and you can follow them on instagram (candlelitandco)

One of my favourite lighting designers Lee Broom (you know, the gorgeous crystal bulb table lamp I sell in store...?) has created a marble range called On The Rock. A range of marble candlesticks and glassware - it really is quite amazing. He has also produced a 'rod' of illuminated marble and another exquisite light featuring carrara marble. I am not sure when these will all be available in Australia but I really think I'd like to (at least) see the martini glass in store!! Well, let's see how much the final costings are first! But thought you might appreciate having a look at his range anyway ...enjoy. (all images taken from the Lee Broom website)

And not to forget I still have a few pieces in store of Tom Dixon's marble range - the incredible brass and marble cheese board and mortar and pestle are proving to be one of my best selling 'go-to' wedding/engagement presents at LUC. (best be quick on these pieces though as new the Tom Dixon range of copper and glass will be arriving any minute and replacing these!)
